Review
of: 24 Press Releases Transformed from So-So to Sizzling, by Marcia
Yudkin

This report on how to write a press release from Marcia Yudkin
caught my attention for a couple of reasons.
First, because I neglect the power of press releases myself. It's
a terrible habit. And I should know better. Ten years ago I ran
an offline business and had huge success with press releases. I
got national coverage for my business through newspapers, magazines,
radio and TV.
As Marcia says, just imagine the value of that kind of coverage...and
imagine how much it would cost if you tried to achieve the same
result with advertising dollars.
The second reason why I like this report is the format she has
used..."Before & After". She takes 24 so-so press
releases and then makes them 'sizzle'. It's a wonderful way to SHOW
you the points that really make a difference.
Who should read this?
Two groups of people really.
- This is perfect for any freelance writer who wants to make
money by writing press releases professionally.
- And at the price she asks, it's well worth buying even if you
are an individual or company trying to improve the quality of
your own press releases.
What you get
This is a 95-page PDF download, fast and easy. As I mentioned,
she goes through 24 different releases and shows how they can be
improved.
But she hasn't chosen these releases at random. Each one is being
used to illustrate a particular point.
Perhaps the best way to illustrate this is to show you some of
her section headings.
1. Emphasize "Why Now?"
2. "News" Requires Something "NOW"
3. "Why" is as Vital as "What"
4. Use the "Who Cares" Test
5. Focus on Shoppers, Not Sellers
6. Add Context That Deepens a Story
Do you see what I mean? With each of the 24 press releases she
is making a point about a very important aspect of the craft. And
then she's showing you how to make it work at its best.
I think this is an excellent way to learn.
Highly recommended.
